Cocktail Marketing hits the headlines

Never believe anyone that says starting up your own business is easy, it really is hard work. From self-promotion, attracting clients and building relationships to building your own brand and delivering a quality service to prove to our clients they made the right choice in us. They say the first 18 months is the hardest and as Cocktail Marketing passes that milestone we start to see the reward for all our efforts.

When we began Cocktail, we knew we had bucket loads of knowledge and experience in branding, marketing, design and web. But the one area that had us unsure was starting up a business. So we took advice and signed up to a Government enterprise scheme. Ixion – a subsidiary of Anglia Ruskin University, gave us mentoring, training and everything we needed to confidently start and grow our business. We learnt so much and found guidance from local business mentors set us on the right track.

Fast-forward to earlier this year and Ixion got back in touch with details of their enterprise awards, open to every business they had supported across East Anglia and London over the past 12 months and we thought what have we got to lose?

awards1Of the six awards categories, Cocktail Marketing was short listed to finalists for both Innovation of the Year and Service Enterprise of the Year. On the day, the awards ceremony took place at Central Hall in Westminster with the Minister State of Employment Rt Hon. Esther McVey on hand to present the awards.

As we sat in the awards ceremony, we couldn’t believe our company had made it this far. So we were elated on being crowned Service Enterprise of the year. Cocktail Marketing was praised for our straightforward and non-jargon approach to helping local businesses and charities grow with their creative marketing support.

We’re over the moon to win and receive recognition for all of the hard work that has gone into establishing our business, we love what we do and it’s given us enormous drive to keep going and keep growing!

The award comes at a time when the Government have announced plans to put creative industries at the heart of economic growth with the aim to maintain and boost Britain’s position as a creative world leader in areas from gaming to advertising, design and publishing.
